A meeting room camera is bought once every five years and its wrong choice is noticed in every meeting. The first criterion is not resolution — it is field of view.
Angle before resolution
A 4K camera with a 65° field of view in a 5-metre-wide room cuts off the people at each end. A Full HD camera at 120° shows everyone. Resolution helps when zooming; the angle decides who appears at all.
Rule: narrow, deep room → narrower angle with optical zoom. wide, shallow room → wider angle.

Speaker tracking — when is it worth it?
Auto-tracking zooms on whoever is talking. Useful where speakers take turns (a boardroom, a training session). Distracting in a small room where everyone talks at once — the frame jumps constantly.
The camera alone is not enough
Audio, not video, is what actually ruins a meeting. A remote participant tolerates a mediocre picture; they do not tolerate broken sound. Add a speakerphone sized to the table — Yealink CP50 or Yealink CP965 wireless.

Three common installation mistakes
- Camera directly above the screen is correct — below it gives an unflattering upward angle.
- A window behind the participants turns them into silhouettes. Close the blind or turn the table.
- A long USB cable with no signal repeater drops the connection past five metres.
